Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in South East London. Back in the 1950's - 60's, it was a rough Docklands area. When I started working, I moved away, and my job gave me the opportunity to travel and see other places in the world.
So in answer to the question, I believe that what influences my writing, is the things I have seen and places I have been, and those I have met along the way. The world is a harsh place, and its peoples lives are formed and influenced by their environment. But what interests me most is how individuals make life choices. We all make choices every day, for good or for bad. Some people just make bad ones!
When did you first start writing?
When I retired and had time to reflect and be creative.
