Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
It's tough to come up with great covers. (PS I don't think mine are that great) But I like to find something that peeks my interest and points to an important part of the book.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
The Chronicles of Narnia by far. I loved reading these to my children when they were young. CS Lewis is so cool.

“The difference between humans and wild animals is that humans pray before they commit murder.” Three bodies in two states and one failed attempt share some things in common, on each pectoral muscle they have been branded, the left with an unbalanced set of scales, the right with the All Seeing Eye, and carved into the flesh between the brands is what looks like some type of writing.

  • I Witch: The Powers of the Blood and the Heart on May 11, 2011

I fell in love with Meagan not only a new witch but the insecurity she shows is amazingly funny. I found the book slow to start but it kept me going till the end. I look forward to reading more from this author
  • Ivory on May 27, 2011

What a wonderful read with great twists. I would love to see this in movie format as well. Thanks Steve for a great experience.
  • Predator or Prey on Oct. 04, 2011

Great story idea. Concept was compelling. Unfortunately Aly's emotions are all over the place and changing faster diapers at a nanny convention. It was still a fun read and I would recommend it.
  • Katie's Hellion (Rhyn Trilogy, Book One) on Oct. 04, 2011

Loved this book. Rhyn is strong and cool. Katie is in need of a protector. Fast read with wonderful turns. A real urban fantasy. Well done.
  • Smashwords Style Guide on Oct. 20, 2011

This book delivers exactly what it promises. You follow the rules and your book gets included in the Smashwords premium catalog. You may not like the process but it does work. So as my 6th grade English teacher used to day. Mr. Driscoll just follow the directions for once in your life. You might like the results. Thanks Mark!
  • The Arbiter Project on Oct. 31, 2011

A wonderful series worth the read. Great characters exciting twists and turns.
  • Sonant on Nov. 14, 2011

I found the story interesting. If I had to guess the author has a problem with the christian deliverance movement. I say this in a good way as each of the major characters is involved in a sin that should have rendered them useless. This tale weaves around a musical theme and I found the descriptions of the music produced a very real thing that made me fell a real reaction to it. The most frustration I had reading this work was the dropped words. It slowed down the story at one point almost to the point of wanting to stop trying to figure out what was meant. I would love to see more from this author if the proof reading was better.

Once again Ms Charles has delivered an outstanding story ffilled with deeply lovable characters and vilians that we can hate. This book is worth the time to read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It was tough to stop reading at night and just go to sleep. Reno is lovable characfter dealing with his own fears and I hope to hear more about him. Thanks again Ms. CHARLES and please keep them coming. BTW I took your advice nd made a donation to my local shelter.
