Stephen Cassady is a late bloomer to writing. He earned his writing chops more than a decade ago when he edited the University of Calgary's creative literary journal SansCrit for four years, and graduated with an English minor earned through creative writing. For a few years after graduation he published a youth-content magazine.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
It is a blur of children's books - my parents were super avid readers to all their children. My night-table as a child was a short bookshelf filled with all sorts of writing. I had my own library of books whenever I wanted to read.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No the first, but I did a very sad Winnie the Pooh tale, starring Pooh, Piglet, a jigsaw puzzle, and a very blustery day.
