    Beautiful!
  • To Find a Duchess on Aug. 19, 2017

    Wonderfully sweet!
  • The Thorn Keeper on Sep. 01, 2017

Can't say enough to do this book (and the whole "Penned in Time" series) justice. This story is the second book of the trilogy and shows the life-changing power and perseverence of God's love and forgiveness in a person's life. The book can be read independent of the other books but don't short-change yourself and read only one. The books in this series are among the best I've ever read!
  • The Thorn Healer on Sep. 01, 2017

This book changed my life. Although I've read it more than once, it has brought me to tears each time. That may sound silly because I already know the plot after the first reading, but what gets me every single time is the way the main character learns the all-encompassing love of God. I would recommend this novel to any and everyone (Have a friend reading the trilogy now), but for those who really struggle with God's love, this book is a lifeline. Thank God for Pepper Basham!
  • Spring Thaw on Sep. 13, 2017

I loved this story! It's not the average mail order bride story. It's much deeper than that. Great writing.

Stayed up all night reading this suspenseful book. Just could not put it down!
  • No Turning Back on Oct. 07, 2017

This might be one of the best suspense novels of the Christian genre. I was amazed at the attention to detail, among many other things. The characters were real, well-rounded with strengths and weaknesses. An overall great read. I highly recommend this book.
  • Privileged on Oct. 27, 2017

Just want to say that I bought the rest of this 4-part series. I loved them all, but my favorite is "Pardoned." This series was worth every dime and now I am a huge fan of J.M. Downey! She truly captures forgiveness and the redeeming power of Jesus.
  • When He Wakes on Nov. 16, 2017

I have to admit, I thought by the description that I wouldn't get past the sample section. It was one of those where I thought, "I'll just start it and if I don't like it, I won't pay for it. The description makes it sound goofy. This novel was anything but. It had an intricately woven, very thrilling plot. Give this novel a chance. You'll be glad you did!
  • Her Minnesota Man (A Christian Romance Novel) on Nov. 19, 2017

Real. Heart warming. A precious gem of a story. The characters are well-rounded, and the love story includes the wonderful message of grace.
  • Getting His Attention on Nov. 20, 2017

This novel had no real plot. Nothing comes between the man and woman. At all. A long read for little emotion.
  • Sadie's Wings on Dec. 28, 2017

Wonderful romance detailing the challenges of life as a brand new single pastor and the woman of his dreams from the wrong side of the tracks.
  • Remember Yesterday on Feb. 14, 2018

Why on earth was this free??? What a wonderful story of love and redemption! I passed by this book so many times, I can't even say. Finally I give it a chance and it blows me away. What a beautiful surprise in every way.
  • A Timely Romance on Feb. 17, 2018

Excellent book! A fantastical romance. Just beautiful!
  • Love Simplified on Feb. 27, 2018

I usually re-read the same book at least twice. I miss things. I don't know. But this story was so special I can only read it once. It was part comedy, part romance and all sweet!
  • Kicking Eternity on March 16, 2018

Y'all don't really need another review here, but when I read a terrific novel, I just have to thank the author and encourage others to read it. This is a fantastic story!
  • Hearts of Avon on April 03, 2018

Is this about a crazed ex or a hurricane? This book is all over the place and as a love story it just gets stopped up. I could have done better things with my time.
  • Many Waters on April 10, 2018

You know a story is well-written if it can make you cry. This was a fantasy with such great christian, inspiring messages included throughout. I literally want to be a better person after reading this wild, love-filled novel. It speaks to a faith few will ever find.
  • The Bridge on April 13, 2018

One of the best stories yet. A man finding himself and a beautiful romance. The scenery is wonderfully depicted. I felt like I was there.
  • A Crazy Little Winter Vacay (BWWM Novella) on April 15, 2018

Wonderful little story. Rena Manse does such a terrific job with interracial romance. I only wish she'd write more! I've read them all!
  • A Brother's Duty on April 18, 2018

How could such a wonderful book be free?
  • The Vicar's Daughter on April 18, 2018

    Fantastic novel.
  • The Secret Dreams of Sarah-Jane Quinn on April 23, 2018

One of the most hilarious books I've ever read! Sweet romance of course.
  • Now Is The Start on May 12, 2018

This story was beautifully written. I loved the heroine's process in decision-making. I loved her desire to make godly choices. The romance was epic, the characters realistic and funny. I spent half the night reading this wonderful book. I can't understand why I'm the first to review it. Seriously, it should have twelve 5-star reviews!
  • What's Left Unsaid on June 25, 2018

This is a very deep, very moving novel with a powerful ending!
  • Fall From Grace (Mad World Book 1) on July 06, 2018

Yeah... Total ripoff of an ending! If you're going to leave a story hanging at the end, have the damn sequel written already!
  • Anchor of Hope on July 21, 2018

Beautiful story. Too good to be free! Looking forward to more Kiah Stephens novels.
  • The Stray on July 28, 2018
    (no rating)
This was a very special romance, not the typical stuff you will often find. An awesome read!
  • Victorian Mist on July 28, 2018

Beautifully written Christian novel. Really loved the message on abstinence.
  • Crazy Love: A Sweet Small Town Romance on Aug. 02, 2018

    Sweet, wholesome romance.
  • The Promise on Aug. 20, 2018

Can't believe there are no reviews of this incredibly moving, exciting and suspenseful story! I love Kristen Ashley novels, but from the five I have read, this is definitely the best. I've only read it three times! A little hint though: it can be read as a stand alone novel, but the story actually really begins at the end of "At Peace."
  • A Harmony for Steve on Sep. 19, 2018

Hallee has done it again! Beautiful, tender, yet suspenseful novel. If ever there was a fictional story filled with characters demonstrating God's grace, this is it. Happy reading!
  • Forever After: A Small Town Romance on Sep. 25, 2018

Last review was so unfair! I suppose that if you stopped reading at page 35 you might miss the fact that she's been in love with him for two years already. Very unfair to review a book you haven't even finished! For my part, I thought it was a sweet romance.
  • Heart of a Family (Book one of the Brides of the West Series) on Sep. 27, 2018

One of the worst novels I've ever read. Plot was all over the place and it was so boring that I quit reading just 20 pages before the end. Can't believe I let it go that long! Only thing going for it was that it was, in smashword terms, "clean and wholesome." Yuck!
  • Love is...Blind on Oct. 17, 2018

    Hated the ending!
  • Forever in Love: A Sweet, Small Town Romance on Nov. 18, 2018

Wonderful romance. Masterfully written and definitely worth the price!
  • True Valor on April 02, 2019

Great romance interwoven with serious suspense from page one. Too good to be free!
  • Then, There's Love on April 08, 2019

This was a well-written romance. Even toward the end of the novel, you're just not sure that they'll make it. I guess you could call it suspense, without the violence or threat. The real threat is to two mixed-up hearts. A Christian romance you'll not soon forget! I've read it about three times and am in the process of reading it again.
  • A Time of Seasons on May 11, 2019

Great story line, but it drags in places. I might be tempted to give the novel five stars if the grammar weren't so bad. It is evident that the author used spell-check. Incorrect homonyms throughout the entire work.
  • A Season Of Secrets on May 12, 2019
    (no rating)
The gramatical errors in this book make it hard to follow. This is a first draft, not a novel. That said, if you don't mind filling in the blanks or reading the wrong words and doing a bit of substitution, the story line is good.
  • A Season Of Secrets on May 12, 2019

Spell check is not for professionals. Having said that, because I liked the story line, I have read this book more than once. I suppose that says something.
  • The Bargain on June 13, 2019

Nice story. Great romance. Believable characters.
  • A Heart's Strength on Aug. 13, 2019

I love this novel. I'm pretty sure I have read it three times. Beautiful story line, as are all of Kay Edwards' books. My only problem is the grammar. Some words were used incorrectly, such as coward and cower, wander and wonder. This makes me wonder if Kay Edwards should get a proofreader. I have seen the same mistakes in her other novels. With the brilliance of her writing, it's sad that the grammar takes something away from it. With that said, the story was lovely as are most of her books. I especially like the theme of God giving beauty for ashes. Kay might just be the boldest author when it comes to presenting the Gospel of Christ. I love how Wendy shares her faith with almost everyone she meets. All in all, this is a great story; however, it strikes me as a second draft.
  • An Intimate Arrangement on Aug. 17, 2019

Beautiful story! Great writing, believable characters. Worth the read.
  • Broken Angel on Sep. 08, 2019

    Long, wonderful read!
  • A Heart that Needs Him More on Sep. 22, 2019

I love Kay Edwards' novels because they are great, creative stories that present the Gospel clearly. The three books in this series are terrific in that way. I know I have been convicted by these books to get back to memorizing scripture. It has been a very long time, and I have no excuse not to do so. Wish my husband would agree to recite passages or verses, talk about their meaning and pray together. That was a terrific idea. I give 4 stars because I can only imagine Kay Edwards dictating her books and skipping proofreading and editing. Unfortunately, her books come out as though they were rough drafts. I have read all of her books multiple times. I love them, but I have to hold my nose, turn off the snooty grammarian and mine for spiritual truths and encouragement. So, thanks for great works, Ms Edwards; keep writing, but please at least have someone with good grammar read your books before you publish them.
  • From Shards to Sea Glass on Oct. 06, 2019

This was a tender love story with a bit of suspense. I loved it. And I have to say, the grammar in this book was nearly perfect -- a rarity on Smashwords. This was an all-around good experience. I hope to see more work from Michele Wilder.
  • Before Today: A Sweet, Small Town Romance on Oct. 10, 2019

Beautiful story! The characters are the kind of people you'd want to know. Leanna Morgan's grammar is, as always, perfect, so it is an easy read. Great job, L.M.
  • Entirely on Oct. 11, 2019

Amazing read! Loved the well-rounded characters. Beautiful story, as are all of Arie Hill's novels.
  • All For Jessie on Nov. 17, 2019

I gave this novel five stars for the romance and the good grammar. There are some inconsistencies, but they don't take too much away from the story, as long as you remember that this is Canada, not the United States. Certain programs might be run by different agencies there.
  • Valerie's Vow on Nov. 27, 2019

Beautiful story of love and faith and friendship. Valerie made a vow to her dying best friend and how it plays out in her life is stunning.
  • What if I Fall on May 27, 2020

This novel is so underpriced! Sensitive, thoughtful love story. Very well written!
  • The Stray on June 14, 2020

I have to add to my earlier comment. I love this novel so much that I've read it at least three times. Reading is a hobby of mine, and I've read over three hundred books. And I can honestly say, this is one of the best. Keep writing, Ms. Jordan! I have read all your books on Smashwords and have been impressed by every one.
  • Never Like This (Christian Romance) on June 23, 2020

Rena Manse is a very talented writer of novels that draw the reader in from the first page to the last. This book is no exception. It is romantic, Christian; and the characters seem realistic, although Kavin's schedule might kill an ordinary human! I have read all of Ms. Manse's novels that are offered on Smashwords. I love the strong black women in her interracial romances.
  • Cam's Witness on July 14, 2020

Fabulous read! Nail-biting suspense wrapped in a sweet romance.
  • The Secret Bride on July 26, 2020

Wonderful suspense combined with sacrificial love. A great read, great story. The only (glaring) problem is that there are grammatical errors on every page. For example, the text reads "width" of lavender rather than "whiff" of lavender. If you don't mind making mental substitutions as you go along (as I did not), this just may be the novel for you. I know I enjoyed it.
  • Beautiful Loser on Sep. 14, 2020

Incredible story of abuse and frustrated love. This is a novel about true love in every sense: from sacrificial love to an emotionally abusive spouse, to love of a parent for a child, to true hearts and flowers love (and not a little sacrifice there as well), to the love of our Heavenly Father. Reid and April gave their whole beings up to a loving God and trusted Him in everything, no matter how frightening their lives had become. These characters knew in their bones that love is a choice we make and held themselves accountable before God. I love the title to this novel as well. Who was the beautiful loser? Tori, who was beautiful outside but an emotionally abusive loser? Reid or April, for being beautiful in their hearts and souls but losers at love in their marriages? Or was it Kyle or Corey, who were beautiful children born to loser families? I love anything done by Diana Mylek. She is an incredible writer with complex characters living difficult lives but staying true to God. I have read all her novels and will be starting her novellas soon. Her writing is encouraging while giving no pat answers for our troubles. "Stay true to God" seems to be her theme.
  • Heart of a Royal (Daughters of Peverell Book 1) on Oct. 23, 2020

This novel was a true pleasure to read. The word choice may have been prose, but it was pure poetry. The writing was organic, truly beautiful in its descriptions and dialogue. The grammar was perfect. Most of all, the story was wonderfully romantic and meaningful. I hope to see more from this author in the future.
  • Power of Surrender on Oct. 24, 2020

Just a wonderful story. The romance is sweet. I love all the great doctrine interwoven throughout the novel. Very, very sweet.
