Smashwords Interview

Describe your desk
My desk is a total tip! I generally write by hand in exercise books then type them up or bribe one of my daughters to type them up for me in my study. I have a small pink dragon to inspire me, heaps of pens and pencils stuffed into one of my hand painted coffee mugs, a fan on top for when it's cold and a heater underneath for when it's not. On the desk is my PC, of course, plus a couple of dictionaries and a thesaurus, a box of tissues and a basket over flowing with scraps of paper. I have notes to myself taped up on every available inch of wall space reminding me of what I have to do, what I would like to do and what I will probably never get round to doing.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
My dad was a bank manager so we moved house quite a bit. I have had experiences in living in lots of different places, but always in towns. I always joined the local library and have read countless books. It wasn't until we were married that my husband and I moved to the country to become poor peasants. It is a great lifestyle and we have been here ever since.
