Keith Carman

I am from the mongrel walk of life having been born in Kenya to English and Scottish parents who had Irish and Welsh roots. We lived in Jamaica through the 60's and 70' after which I moved to Aberdeen where I went to University to read a Modern History degree. I fled the Highlands to then live in various parts of England and Wales. From Portsmouth in 2012 I decamped to France where the slow almost treacly pace of life suits me very well. Listening to frogs, birds, crickets and Monty woofing at a hedgehog is pretty much what I set out to do on the day I was born. I started writing my first book years and years ago, learning the process and editing multiple times. Then came the big moment of uploading it, followed by checking every hour to see how many have been sold! So far my books have sold to an exclusively British market and when that changes and American buyers come on board I am going to be thrilled beyond belief.

Smashwords Interview

What are you working on next?
It was always my intention to write another book or two to make a series and living here in France throws up new confusions all the time so there is plenty of material to explore as a writer.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favourite authors have been the same ones for a long time. Laurie Lee is right at the top, William Golding is there too and so is Pablo Coelho.
