Scott Gates is a writer and the senior editor of Carolina Country magazine (carolinacountry.com), a monthly consumer publication reaching more than 2 million readers across North Carolina. Before beginning his career with electric cooperatives, Scott wrote for or edited several publications, including Backpacker magazine, The Denver Business Journal and Software Business Magazine.
Scott grew up in Alabama and currently lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina, with his wife and three kids, where he enjoys a slower pace of life and reliable barbecue options. He and his brother share perspectives on Southern culture on their blog, The Incidentalist (incidentalist.com).
