Biography

I am a writer, editor and publisher for the Secret Society of Words. My interests include reading, writing and discussing speculative fiction and I have a keen interest in new scientific discoveries (astrology, space exploration, cosmology, physics, psychology etc). I like to read about Australia, the political arena and environmental issues. I also love to knit and cross-stitch when I'm not into books, on the computer writing or out kayaking, I'm swimming and golfing.

Smashwords book reviews by Cat Sheely

  • Write The Fight Right on May 01, 2011

Short, concise and very informative. Written from a background that gives the content solid credibility it is something all writers who need to write or understand a fight scene (or more for that matter) needs to know.
  • Of Past Human Civilisations: Cosmic Catastrophes and Consciousness on June 20, 2020

I have known Raja for more10 years and have been an avid reader of his blog and FB posts as well as several of his earlier books. Over the past few years he has moved to deep thought about spiritualism and the broad philosophies and writings surrounding the soul, it provenance and future. I have found his writing insightful and broad ranging. If you want a view from both the in-depth research and the personal (experience) than Raja's writings are for you.
  • The Call of the Divine: A Shared Journey and A Fellowship of Souls on Aug. 12, 2020

Raja Ratnam has spent many years thinking deeply about spiritualism and the Divine. His views are well though out and argued in a sensitive yet strong manner. He makes a case that people need spiritual beliefs to live together and lead fulfilling lives but that it should be local and not hierarchical in form. The latter is a power structure that becomes secular and leaves the truly spiritual behind. A thought provoking book for those wishing to find a personal yet universal view.
