Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I loved to write for as long as I can remember. I think it was kindergarten. I was supposed to write five sentences - and I wrote a story! The teacher said I did too much. I remember my mom telling her she should be happy I enjoyed the assignment enough to write more than five sentences. My mom told me to never stop writing. She made me feel so proud of my story.
What motivated you to become a published author?
Once I began opening up about my battle with depression and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), I was saddened at how many people felt isolated, alone, and ashamed. I wanted others to know they weren't alone and that there's hope for better just hold on and push through.
