  • Cutters Vs. Jocks on Oct. 24, 2012

This is the story of Elizabeth "Libby" Tucker a "nobody" from a small town in Indiana. She becomes friends with Banford "Aidan" Palowski an all star baseball player. The two could not be more opposite. They hang with different crowds that just don't seem to click with each other. Soon their friendship turns into something more. They are at a crucial turning point in their life, with college almost over and ready to face the world as adults. Then Libby finds herself pregnant and the decision she faces can affect the outcome of both of their lives. A great prequel to the full length novel Binding Arbitration by Elizabeth Marx. I look forward to continuing this story to see what happens to Libby and Aiden. Fantastic read.

Binding Arbitration (Elizabeth Marx) Elizabeth "Libby" Tucker , a prominent defense attorney in Chicago is determined to save her six year old sons (Cass) life. He has leukemia, and the only way for him to live is a bone marrow transplant. Banford "Aidan" Palowski is her college love interest, he left her when he found out she was pregnant. Now a major league baseball player he may be the only person to save Cass' life. When Libby asks Aiden for some DNA to see if he is a match , her whole world is turned upside down. Will Aiden cooperate and what will he want in return? Libby is desperate and will do what ever it takes to save her sons life. A fantastic read. Told from Aiden and Libbys perspectives I was able to see things through both their eyes. Filled with emotions I found Binding Arbitration thought provoking, it kept me up late into the night. I was engrossed up until the very last page. I look forward to reading more of Elizabeth Marx books. You must read Cutters Vs. While on this assignment, visions of her haunted childhood resurface, the death of her mother, the imprisonment of her father. Filled with secrets and shocking revelations. A bit graphic in the sex scenes. (I am not a big reader of graphic sex or I would have rated this book a five star read). The plot was fantastic and the characters were realistic. I would love to read more work by Riley Banks
  • Haunted on March 20, 2013

Haunted (maria Savva) Psychological/Suspense Nigel Price is an ordinary man. He leads an average life until one eventful night. It changed the course of his life. Try as he may he just can not let go of that night, and his past keeps coming back to haunt him. Every day, every waking hour he is constantly reminded of this. His restless sleepless nights, the regret and quilt just eat away at his soul. Soon he is not sure what is real and what is not. Is he becoming paranoid, or are things just not as they seem. A fantastic all night read. Maria Savva writes with passion and detail, I felt as if I were inside Nigels mind. Filled with some twists, turns, suspense and paranormal thrills. I highly recommend to suspense/thriller/paranormal lovers.

Vampire Origins - The Strigoi Book 1 - Project Ichorous (Riley Banks) The story begins with five different vampire tribes Strigoi, Cambion, Strix, Nosferatu and Bretonnian. Scarlette along with her brothers, baby sister and father moved to Romania for her fathers construction project. She knows of vampire stories but doesn't think much of them. She and her brothers make new friends and she even gets a boyfriend. But things are not always what they appear to be. Vlad, the man her father is working for is an ancient vampire and his plan is to dominate the world. This plan will only work with one girl, and that is Scarlett. Soon she and her family are in great danger and it is up to her to try to put an end to this before Vlad puts and end to her and all of mankind. A fantastic Vampire story. Had a lot of nail biting moments and I was hooked from the first page until the last. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

  • Search for the Golden Serpent on March 27, 2015

Search for the Golden Serpent by Luciana Cavallaro One day architect Evan Chronis goes into his back yard and finds himself back in time. Way back in time. He is not in the 21st century anymore he is in a time when the Gods ruled the earth. Soon he learns if he wants to go back home (to modern time), he must risk his life in search of treasured relics for the Gods. What he finds is much more than he expected. Will Evan find the relics and return home? Or will he be stuck in ancient times forever? A well written fascinating story. I really Liked Evan. I also liked the Gods incorporated into the story. I am a huge fan of mythology, so adding legendary Gods added so much pizzazz to this already compelling story. There is adventure, action, danger, drama, secrets revealed, everything that makes a great story. Learning more about Zeus and the other Gods added more excitement. I loved watching Evan on his mission, making friends, trying to fit into a different time. And of course the suspense and waiting to find out how it all turns out in the end. I strongly recommend Search for the Golden Serpent to those who love action/adventure/mythology/time-travel. A true five star read, I was hooked from the first page.....
  • Rising Tide: Dark Innocence on Sep. 16, 2016

Rising Tide: Dark Innocence (The Maura DeLuca Trilogy, #1) Claudette Melanson Maura has always been a bit of a loner. She doesn't make friends easy, and when she does they tend to just make fun of her, or are out right cruel. Her Mother Caelyn takes a new job in Canada, Maura feels this could be a fresh start and a better life for both of them. She has never know about her father, her Mother never wants to talk about him. This bothers her, and she wants to know more. The school season is ending and Maura starts to feel different. She does not do well in the sun, she has some sort of allergy, that is what she has been told. She meets a boy named Ron and a few of his friends. Ron accepts her for who she is, his friends as well. Are things finally looking up for Maura? Will she ever find the truth about her father? Will she finally find happiness. An original story, with a very likable female lead. Maura is different, she is shy, kind, and just wants to fit in. It is hard not to like her. She faces many challenges being a teen and not popular. Having an over protective Mother doesn't help. But I also found Caelyn likable, she has her secrets, but she loves her daughter and will do anything to protect her. Overall I found Rising Tide: Dark Innocence very enjoyable. The story is well written, with secrets, a bit of young love, and teen problems. I feel those who like a great y/a paranormal/vampire story will enjoy this as well.

Then she gets a death threat, unless she stops writing about someone. She teams up with a body guard and a few other writers to try to solve this mystery. A fast paced story with likable characters, humor, mystery and murder. A classic "who-done-it" writing style, set in Hollywood, keeping you guessing until the end. Overall I found Hollywood Scandals quite enjoyable and feel those who enjoy a cozy murder/mystery will enjoy as well.
