Eleanor - a requiem on April 16, 2013

As a fan of historical novels I found Eleanor - a requiem a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging read. Some of the descriptives were a bit wordy and initially got close to obscuring the plot, but overall the book was well written and maintained my interest throughout. Although I am not too familiar with the 14 century I felt that the book was well researched and it gave me a fascinating insight into the period. The plot was very interesting from the start and once I got into the story I found it hard to put down. The unravelling of events and the development of the characters maintained my interest throughout. Overall an excellent first novel and I'm now looking forward to reading the next.
