Daren Dean is an "industrial gothic" writer with the sensibility of a Southern Punk, now add to that some good old-fashioned “Country Noir” storytelling, and you have flat-out got something. He pursued creative writing as an undergraduate at MU, earned a BS from Central Methodist University, and graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. His work has appeared in such places as the Chattahoochee Review, the Deck anthology, Image, Muscadine Lines: A Southern Journal, Poetry Southeast, Stir, StorySouth. He works in the Acquisitions department of the University of Missouri Press. Currently, he lives in Columbia with his wife, Cassie, and their two children.
