HOLY HELL! That was one helluva of wild ride from start to finish. Such a gripping, brilliantly thought out and well executed plot. Had me hooked on right from the start. The author has done a great job of portraying the emotions that play through the situations - helplessness, intrigue, sense of connect, hope, loss, insecurities from the past and determination in the face of terror. The descriptions contribute to the intensity of the scenes and help create a unique amalgam of fear, eerie/horror vibes and sensuality. I can't say much without spoiling the story ( which in itself tells one about how good the suspense quotient is), but as someone who is currently working in the field that this particular sci-fi element is based upon, I'll say the amount of research that has gone into this is commendable. The dark elements were mostly of the sort expected from the premise, but I do have to mention there were some really tender moments wherein the author highlights the emotions of the connect between the victims that were so beautifully written, so beautifully in contrast to the assault scenes. For those of you craving good dark fiction with an engaging suspenseful story resting on the elements of well explained sci-fi horror elements, you are in for such a treat.

Oh, dear Author! Please come back and give us more. That was so heart-breaking. Totally didn't see the story ending that way. But I don't have any complaints. That last line. Man, that speaks volumes about the love they shared. Really well written.

Well written piece of erotica. That was HOT! Though kinda felt sad at the end for Alex.

Wow. Just wow. Now that was some seriously good dark fiction. Going in, I wasn't sure if I was in the mindset to handle dark fiction but as someone who suffers from a sleep disorder, I was hella intrigued ( masochistic much ?). I am glad I took the bait, cause this was such a treat. In just under 50 pages, the author made me empathize with the MC-Axel, made my heart weep for him and his helpless state, share his hate toward the workings of this cruel and unfair world and ultimately find myself gleaming with a sinister and wicked thoughts , completely transported to yet another psyche /state of mind. Now that according to me is the perfect recipe for an enjoyable dark book. The author's writing style and diction complemented the dark plot. I particularly loved the imagery and the seemingly eerie mood that was created from simple descriptions. Perfectly executed. | "He felt exhausted in a way he couldn’t remember, yet all his body did was relax, but his brain got no rest. Just the perpetual rhythm of the nurses during the day, the pounding rhythm in his ass at night, and the move of light and shadows on that fu*king ceiling."| Also commendable is the descriptions of sleep paralysis and the utter helplessness of his situation. I am sure that must have taken some good research. Highly recommend if you are looking for a well written, short, dark taboo book.
