Sinda Cheri Floyd is actually a pen name for 2 sisters, Sinda and Cheri, who write mysteries for the Young Reader market. The characters in these stories are loosely based on the 3 Floyd sisters when they were younger. Their older sister is Lynda.
Sinda and Cheri have both been teachers professionally and have published many nonfiction articles and books between them. They are having a ball writing these sister stories!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My sister and I co-write under the pen name Sinda Cheri Floyd. I'm Sinda, she's Cheri but we are both Floyds. We both have been writing for years professionally and have published academic books and articles. On vacation one summer, I saw a news piece on an indie author and decided to research indie publishing. It was a step that has changed our lives! We are now on our 6th book of our series, the Floyd Sisters Mysteries, and having an absolute blast! We hope you enjoy them and that your children do as well...
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The creative process is hard to define. I will be watering flowers in my garden and an idea comes to me about a new plot in our latest book. I will go to sleep thinking about a problem with a story and wake up with a fresh approach. My sister and I have often speak of the chapters "writing themselves." It is an absolute joy to have creative thoughts, to put them to paper and then have someone actually want to buy your creation. Writing has brought some of life's greatest joys to us.

A family trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico, turns into a mystery of epic proportions. Several fires break out where the Floyd sisters and their mother are staying for the pow wow in town that weekend. It's crazy with the police running after various suspects, but the sisters bicker their way to finding out who the culprits really are.
The Floyd sisters visit their father in Coronado Island for the summer. Visiting a movie set one day, paranormal things happen and a ghost appears. It's scary and threatens to close down the movie. The curious girls bet that all is not what it seems and do their work to figure out what's going on. Car crashes and breakdowns haunt their path but they persevere but they have to.
One warm Texas night three young girls stood in front of a downtown building. It was dark. It was scary and they had to go in.
