Not at all what I expected, much better actually. I enjoyed this more than an unexpected box of Godiva pumpkin truffles. All the decadence of high fantasy tempered with a knowledge of how people really work. An unusual setting adds individuality to this work in a slightly overpopulated genre. The characters are believable, the plot is twisty enough to be mind catching without being exhausting, and the sex is well written and integral to the plot rather than a device to turn pages. More than worth the four dollars, Go Read It.
