The Emperor's Edge
on March 23, 2014
Fast, furious pace, descriptive, and I read it in about 3 hours, couldn't put it down! Magic and mayhem abound in a fantasy world that was just so much fun for me to read. And praise to the author for actually using words with more than three syllables, sentences that flowed easily and descriptive enough without being overly so made this a wonderful after dinner read! Great characters, all with flaws and foibles to make for some fun times and some funny times along with the edge of your seat action. Well done!
Angels of the Knights - Fallon (Book One)
on June 11, 2014
This was a really fun twist on the whole angel/demon thing. Fallon is a strong female lead, very fun to read. Her first love is a poor guy who is coming to terms with her being a kickazz chick with a strong sense of right and wrong. He does a fine job of trying to be the man she needs in the midst of killing, twisted family ties and well, that whole she's really an Angel. Good action, interesting world and I'm looking forward to more adventures with these Angels.

Spanning several years, yet told concisely and it moved along quickly but with enough detail to keep the story colorful and entertaining. Not only is this far from my normal type of read, I don't like golf nor am I into romances that aren't of the paranormal or sci-fi flavor, I also don't like stories that have a 'sad' ending. This book though, grabbed me in and held me from start to finish during my quiet afternoon of cloud watching and lounging about. The characters are colorful, fun, and there's twists and turns, love, laughter, tears, friendships formed and some nice 'oh wow' moments. Mostly happy indeed, and incredibly poignant. I had to get a tissue once. I hate when I need a tissue! A very worthwhile read.
Back Again (The Short Story)
on Aug. 05, 2014
Do not read if you are feeling any sort of emotion other than stoic! Heartbreaking and yet, wonderfully told. Going back every 10 days and figuring out the 'how' of it all, trying to grasp something and change the outcome made for an intense and worthwhile journey. Descriptive in a lively and very human way, and I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was tough, as well, it's a child dying, but the mom's journey to fix it was fascinating.
