Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I started writing in the 90's. I was hired to manage the newsletter for a very large church near Houston, Texas. I was also the Director of the Singles Department, and as such, was required to write an article for my department.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My life has been observed by others to be full of disappointments and loss. I use the word "observed" because I wasn't aware of how much people watch our lives and the way we live them. My life was what I describe as "perfect" until I graduated from high school. That sounds a little strange when I write it because I just always thought every child had a good life. Obviously, I learned that isn't the case.

I married right out of high school to an older "man" I had known most of my life. That's where my book and my life of failures, tragedies, and disappointments started. Within eighteen months of our marriage, our first baby was stillborn at 8 months, and my husband died of cancer. I was widowed at 20. From that point on my life took a series of "wrong turns."

All throughout my life I was told I should write a book. I never took it seriously, until I did!

The world around us seems to be falling apart. Is there really any hope for our future? The first book in this series is my testimony. From a very young age I began to suffer many hardships, one after the other for more than fifty years. I chose early in my life to seek God for guidance and He led me through every situation, not by removing all the hardships, but by guiding me step by step.
