I enjoyed this book very much. The main character is warm and giving, the supporting characters are human and three-dimensional, and the story and the world it is set in are well-thought-out, detailed, engaging, exciting and interesting. It's an excellent and thoughtful debut, and I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

i loved this book. the tone is light and humerous, the characters well-drawn, the situations often bloody hilarious - there were smiles, chuckles and even a belly-laugh sprinkled throughout. i really felt for Christa as she was thwarted again and again in her attempts to rekindle her much-missed marital passion. three kids and a mother-in-law will do that to a girl... speaking of the mother-in-law, i found myself, like Christa, unable to decide if this seemingly evil, scheming and interfering monster really *was* just a kindhearted, if misguided and socially inept, lady. highly reccommended. my only complaint is that it was too short. looking forward to hearing more about Christa, Miles, and the wonderful elder Mrs Vanderveldt.
