  • No Experience Required (a Summer Rains Novel) on Jan. 01, 2013

Summer hoped that she could get rid of the pop star who was stalking her and concocted a bullet proof plan of making that happen. Honestly, what could go wrong? The next morning though she finds out that someone else's plan to get rid of the pop star was to murder him making her the last known person to see him alive. So naturally Summer ends up being a main suspect with a gorgeous detective investigating the case. As if that wasn't bad enough, her only help comes from the man she's been in love with since she was twelve and his beautiful girlfriend. Solving this case becomes number one on her to do list. Can she find out who murdered the pop star before she ends up getting hurt herself or getting into more trouble? I thought this book was witty and found myself chuckling throughout the book. I read this book in less than 24 hours. It was a pager turner to say the least. The two men in her life, Detective Ronin and Gandhi "Will" Rhys are devilishly handsome and I loved the chemistry between them and Summer. I thought that this was a good start to a good series and I looking forward to the next one. If you like humor and mystery mixed together, than this book is for you. Personally I'm looking forward to finding out what Summer could possibly get into next. A whole lot, I bet!! I can't wait to find out.

Connor Wright is trying to run and operate is newly established restaurant in Serendipity, Texas. However things hit a rough patch when his cheese suppler doesn’t deliver. In need of a new suppler his co-worker suggests her best friend Jessica Stillwell. Right from the start the sexual attraction between them is strong. Nevertheless, Connor’s past is one thing that keeps him from moving too fast with Jessie. Connor isn’t the only one with a past; Jessie has her own issues to work out. One of her major problems is her ex-boyfriend, Chad, who has started stalking her. Just when things couldn’t get even more complicated Connor’s restaurant turns out to be truly haunted and this ghost has decided that he is her new lover and will do anything to keep Jessie and Connor apart. Can Connor and Jessie overcome their pasts and the ghost haunting them? The only thing that I didn’t really like about this book was that I was expecting was a little more conflict between Connor’s ex-wife and Jessie. There was a buildup throughout the book on how much trouble she has been in the past and how she was constantly ruining Connors life. When all was said and done all that happened was a phone call. Overall I enjoyed this book. I thought the concept and the characters were good. I found myself wondering what could possibly happen next that will keep these two characters from being together. This was a fast read and was able to finish it in one day. If you are looking for some romance and a little ghost action you should give this one a try. I do look forward to reading more from Anne Conley. I received this book from the author for an honest review.

It's Carnival in Italy. Cassie Tracy should be out celebrating with the rest of the city but instead she is trying to forget about her cheating, now ex-boyfriend's latest indiscretion. While driving around the city she literally runs into Troy and his friend Victor. Will this be a night that Cassie will never forget? I thought that this book was good. It is a short hot erotica that doesn’t disappoint you. Jessa has a way of describing the scenes which makes you feel like your right there with the characters. This was my first experience reading something by Jessa Callaver and hopefully it won’t be my last. I received this book from the author for an honest review.
