Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I am originally from Colorado but spent much of my childhood in a tiny town on the east coast of Virginia. When I wrote my first book, I was losing my father and knew once he was gone, I'd probably never go back to that town, so I set that book in that town to keep it alive for me forever. Growing up in a small town leaves little activity and lots to the imagination. I always had notebooks and told stories. There wasn't much else to do.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have several latest book in progress. 34 Seconds has been out there for a while now, so I'll share one of my up and coming novels, Finding Her. I have a fantastic twenty-five-year friendship with my friend, Anne, who lives two thousand miles from me. After spending a summer with her visiting on and off, I wanted to pay tribute to our long friendship. At the same time, I was researching Arizona in hopes of moving there. I fell in love with Camelback Mountain over Google images. It was a digital love story meant to be because I live nearby now.
Finding Her is a personal journey about life and love after huge life changes. I dedicate this story to my friend Anne, but I wrote it a good year before my world was tipped upside down and mirrored much of what Anni went through in Finding Her.
I can't say exactly when this book will be available, but I'm hoping sometime near the end of 2019.
