Stephanie is a strategist with over ten years of experience at companies like msn, yahoo! and AOL Huffington Post.
With a talent for writing pithy trade collateral and zesty speeches & presentations, she turned her hand to blogging in 2009, and then feature writing a year later. She has been published in lifestyle magazines in the UK, US, and Australia, and on Huffington Post UK. Turning her pen to passion, purpose and vision was a natural leap, mirroring her own desire to live Absolutely on Purpose.
She loves essential oils, flowers and coconut macaroons. Travel is her oxygen and her way of satisfying an insatiable curiosity and passion for life. She also loves roses, because life just doesn’t smell as good without them.
A South London girl at heart, you’re as likely to find her consulting with entrepreneurs in Montreal as blogging on a beach in Mexico.
When did you first start writing?
About four years ago I wanted to tell the world about essential oils. I had just graduated as an aromatherapist and had a burning desire to share this discovery with others. I created a blog called 'Musings of an Aromatherapist' so that I could easily share my passions with friends and family. Although it lacked finesse, it certainly fired up a talent for inspiring positive change.
What's the story behind your latest book?
For the last seven years I've alternated work and travel on a quest for the perfectly-balanced location-independent lifestyle. The two experiences are like chalk and cheese, and became more pronounced the longer my travel stints lasted. Each time I returned to the corporate world I'd notice that people lacked the same heightened excitement for life that people have when they're travelling. They were going through the motions with what seemed like very little thought or deliberate-ness. On the road the majority of people I meet are fired up. I wanted to capture that excitement for life, package it up, and deliver it to the city tribe. Being part of the city tribe myself made it easier; I felt constrained by the commute, restricted by corporate rules, controlled by the status quo. I wanted to empower people to create their own rules. Absolutely on Purpose emerged from my own personal rebellion: I'm on a mission to do something that really matters and impact the heart of humanity. I wanted to share the belief that we can all do something that matters.
In the excitement of starting up, fledgling entrepreneurs create another job instead of a freedom life and a business that sustains it. But what if you could stabilise the roller coaster of starting up? Stephanie Holland has designed a framework that takes people out of their self-imposed comfort zones and challenges them to consciously craft a freedom lifestyle while they start their business.
What if you could *literally* unfurl your brilliance across the universe?
Absolutely on Purpose isn’t just a collection of visionary common sense for life, art and entrepreneurship. It’s a kick-ass guide to living with passion, purpose and vision, and a smörgåsbord of ideas on how to impact the heart of humanity by doing whatever you love.
