Stephen Toon

Part of a group that created an cookbook for Individuals, people that might live alone and need to cook for ONE and not the family anymore. We tried to make them simple and most delicious.

After over 50 years working in retailing I decides that after retiring I wanted to give back to those who need care and support. Since 2014 I have volunteered working Youth First, a GLBT youth support organization, cancer patients at Texas Oncology and with the S.N.A.P program a part of the Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions organization.

During a conversation with a group of seniors who had applied for S.N.A.P. benefits we learned that many of them no longer cooked. We were told that they had difficulty findings recipes for one, and that they had difficulty standing for long periods of time. After that conversation I pulled together. A very creative team - Kyra, Virginia, Phil to work with me to create this collection of recipes. The goal is to help my friends to cook for themselves once and to eat healthier. We hope you find this cookbook useful and enjoy cooking once again.

THANKS for looking at our book.
