Susan M. Strayer has a master's degree in children's literature from Hollins University and is working on a doctorate in literature for children and young adults at The Ohio State University. She has held a number of odd jobs, including the sale of insurance, making coloring books, file clerk, and barista. She currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with her orange tabby cat, Mokkun.
