Stuart, now well into his 90's, was a schoolmaster in Yorkshire until he retired and came to live in Suffolk. Apart from writing, Stuart draws, paints, sculps and makes stone jewelery. He is also excellent entertainment at social events where he often amuses people with his monologues that he commits to memory.
