Nidia Dacosta

My name is Nidia Michelle Dacosta and I currently live in El Paso, Texas. I was born in the Dominican Republic; my father Rafael Dacosta live in Atlanta, GA and my mother Noelia Dacosta Victoria still reside in the Dominican Republic. I have two sisters who are married with children-Nilka Mateo and Anais Dacosta and there are children Chance Shelton and Stephan Serrata, and a godson Angelo Shelton, these people that are part of my life are also a part of my journey, many times we watched sunsets without realizing the potential or the greatness of what we were seeing, these people are part of me and this book.
I, myself have two children who have been my inspiration for living- Arielle Elizabeth Zapata 12 years old and Josh Jayde Perez 4 years old, my husband Jose, has also been a great influence in my life and I cherish him greatly.
I have been living in El Paso, Texas for the past 8 years and consider El Paso my home town. My reasoning for feeling that El Paso is my home town is because God has a plan for me, besides bringing my husband to me and allowing me to fall in love, El Paso provides me with a place to call home so that I may take care of my children and have those special moments that often are very brief.
My daughter Arielle has been my biggest helper when it came to writing this book and getting it published; through her eyes I was able to see the different sunsets and to view them innocently. Many times as adults we tend to overlook natural beauty, but through the eyes of my children I am able to see beauty for what it really is.
My children are just as talented as I am my daughter is very talented in art, music, and ballet. Recently, one of her drawings “The Tear of Hope” was exposed to a local gallery and participated in several art contests. My son who is younger is already showing his talent for dancing and is constantly being awarded in his pre-school as the best dancer for his age group.
I am religious and believe in God as well as angels; I feel that God has given me the gift of clarity to see some of the most amazing sunsets and to guide me in taking pictures and basking in their glory.
I believe that when a person has changed their state of mind of how they see things from different perspectives such as a positive one; they are able to see more than what is there; some people just see colors in the sky and oohh and ahhh, but when one has an open mind, they are able to really see the true definition of the sunset. I see the magic, mystical power, its winks, and the powerful glow that settles upon Texas, Florida, and the Caribbean. I tried to capture the beauty as seen in this book. I am truly blessed and I want to share it with all of you.
