A message from the author: "I hope that my books resonate with my readers and give them pause to consider the challenges, fears and demons that sometimes control our lives, and the importance of living with passion and courage, and pursuing the dreams we hold dear.”
Tell us about your book. How did you come up with the titles for the books?
Dreams of the Many and Dreams of the Few are the first two books in the Legacy of Dreams three-book series. The genre is what I would call 'metaphysical fiction'. The title for Dreams of the Many relates to the ten strangers Casey calls to his dream world to help him complete a very important journey. Each dreamer is challenged to face their fears and, as the story unfolds, we discover that, although Casey has been labeled as damaged by society, the adults he has chosen to help him are, in their own way, more damaged and disabled. The title for the second book, Dreams of the Few refers to the smaller group of dreamers who venture off on the second journey.
Did you self-publish, or go the traditional route, and why?
As you know, publishers no longer accept unsolicited manuscripts and it is difficult to get the attention of a literary agent. I did a lot of research before selecting a self-publishing house and settled on a very dependable, reputable self-publishing house. I also published the novel for Kindle and Nook readers.
Dreams of the Many, Dreams of the Few and Dreams of the Exile. A 3-book series of metaphysical fiction. A story of friendship, love and courage and a reminder that we can reach for the stars and achieve our dreams - but only if we are willing to face our fears!
Crackle & Wheeze tells the story of Agitta Marie and her younger sister, Bedehlia. It is a story of life on the road in the mid-1900s, and a mother who sells her children into prostitution. Agitta writes of her life, her struggle to rise above, her efforts to protect her young sister and her decline into hopelessness. It is a tale of poverty, betrayal and survival.
Actor Brody Murphy is once again embroiled in a dream created by his protégé, Casey Wheeler. While the world mourns his absence, Brody faces the destruction of his virtual world. In the dream, Brody faces the manifestation of his dead father and discovers that if he is to return to the real world, he must come to grips with his family’s past. The race to save Brody is on, but can he be saved?
Dreams of the Few is the second in the three book Legacy of Dreams series. Once again, renowned New York stage actor Brody Murphy must put aside his life and career, and step into a dream world to rescue Casey Wheeler. After seven years of sobriety, and a new life with his wife and son, Brody is faced with the prospect of returning to the nightmare world he once escaped.
This metaphysical odyssey blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. When his dream first started actor Brody Murphy didn’t know they would change his life and test his sanity. A young autistic boy named Casey controls Brody’s dream, and the outcome will determine Casey’s future. This far-reaching novel is about shared humanity, and our capacity to overcome fear, and be what we were meant to be.
