Factory 4-80

I highly recommend this book. Factory 4-80 is a high quality space opera. A genre book has certain expectations. Many books meet the expectations, but fail to exceed them. I’m pleased to say this book exceeds the right of the mill space opera. Surprises move the story along at a good pace and continue to develop the characters. The book is clearly the foundation for a series. Yet the story is satisfying as a stand alone book.

Outback Rebellion

I highly recommend this book. Outback Rebellion is a very entertaining book. It is Book 2 of the Freighty series. (Factory 4-80 is Book 1 of the Freighty series.) The story was captivating. I read it straight through. It had all the essential qualities of a high quality space opera. This book is no of the mill space opera. It is easy to read, moves along at a good pace and the character development is great. The story is a great stand alone book, but makes me hope that Gorton has another Freighty novel coming up.

Asimov's Laws

Great book! Great series! After reading the first two books, I was happy to see four more books in this addictive series. Asimov’s Laws is a great change of pace. Gordon is very skilled in character development. His inventive story line places the familiar characters in a new environment. The story is very satisfying as a stand alone book. The foreshadowing of a potential relationship developing has me anxious to read the next book.

This is classic world building. A minor character introduced in the previous book expands the Freighty realm. An insignificant planet becomes an important world. The development of an alien species is fascinating. I cannot wait to see where the series goes in this expanded world.
