What is the most important aspect of writing for you?
The characters. All of the short stories I have written are erotica. It can be tempting to start a story out right in the heat of the action. Perhaps one day I'll write a 2000-3000 word short story that is like that but currently, that's not really my style. I love the eroticism but honestly, when I read a story I get involved in the characters. I want to know more about them. I want to know what makes them tick and why they make the decisions they make. Reading about sex can be hot. However, I look for more than "he put his P in her V and they enjoyed it"...I don't feel invested in the story if I can't vibe with the characters. So I figured I would continue to write stories that I would like to read and if I stay true to that then more people will purchase my books. To this day, I'll read a story that I wrote and I know its silly but it can feel like I'm visiting with an old friend as I reacquaint myself with the characters and the story. As far as the eroticism...I love it when a story I wrote has scenes that still make me hot. That is when I think to myself, "Wow! I'm on the right track!"
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story that I read that wasn't for school was Mark Anthony's--Beyond that Pale. I can't quite express my love for that book or his Last Rune series, suffice to say that is one of my favorite books of all time. This was the first time that I began to fantasize about becoming an author.
