Toni Mandara has a deep interest in the intersections between complex cultural narratives, personal identity, and the embodied expression of connection with Spiritual Intelligence. Her decades of training and experience in both the conventional medical world and the integrative health arts form a rich backdrop for her perspective on heal and healing.
She has studied such diverse yet interconnected healing pathways through dreamwork, trauma recovery, Somatic movement, West African storytelling, personality systems, shamanic practices, and Buddhist inquiry. She has incorporated all these learnings into a synthesis called Somatic Process Healing. She is an author and Somatic Process facilitator, with a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. When not at the office, she can be found at work on her next book focused on culturally supportive forms of Self-Health for black women.

Creative Self-Health: A Consciousness-Based Approach
by Lori-Ann Gertonson & Toni Mandara
In this book, Dr. Lori-Ann Gertonson and Toni Mandara introduce the reader to the concepts of optimal health in the modern world based on an understanding of the quantum “Self”. The term Self-Health links this new understanding of “you” to a different orientation towards health. It shifts the focus on health from a doctor-centered strategy to the power of healing from within.
