Growing up in Michigan, Sally Stout explored the fields and woods of her family's farm and spent a great deal of time in the forests of Middle Earth and Narnia. She has taught English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga and in high school and college classrooms. She now lives and writes on the shore of Lake Michigan. When she is not planning her next backpacking trip, she is likely to be found working in her garden, weaving at her loom, or plotting her next book.
