Biography
Alex MacDougall is a children’s author who was raised and lives in the Highlands.
His wife Cass is the creator of the Caledonian Bears – teddy characters made from tweed in a workshop at Neptune’s Staircase – a series of canal locks on the Caledonian Canal.
A book of pictures and letters from customers kept in the workshop and his insight into highland life were the inspiration for Alex to write a series of stories about the bears.
