Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, The Covenant by James Michener, The Persian Boy by Mary Renault, Galilee/Everville/Imajica/The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker, and 1001 Arabian Nights: sweeping in landscape, grand, lofty and noble themes, mesmerizing characters and the magic in everyday life themes.
Describe your desk
I like to write while standing so I am usually found at my kitchen island which is in two parts; the lower section serves as the coffee station and is within arms reach of the elevated countertop butte which has become my go to workstation.
