When I was young, I was a total bookworm. I would spend every evening in my room, curled up on my bed with a good book. After I had my boys, my love of reading got lost in the shuffle. Now that they are older and not requiring as much attention, I have gotten back to my first love, reading!
The first book that kept me up all night was "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King. I couldn't put it down until I knew for sure that damn vampire was dead. LOL Some of the other books I loved as a child were "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett and "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster. Basically, any fantasy story that would sweep me up and plant me into another world. As I hit my teenage years, my reading shifted to stories that involved more challenges, but still involved fantasy worlds and creatures. Anything with elves, dwarfs, or mages was a sure win with me.
Now that I'm older, my true love is vampires. There is just something about that dangerous, heart stopping, sexiness that I can't get away from. Of course, I love any good paranormal romance, but vamps will always be my #1.
I am an Associate Editor for Entangled Publishing and a Line Editor for MuseItUp Publishing.
