Thomas Abyed

Thomas hails from Portland, Oregon, and attended nearby Pacific University, studying philosophy and music. If you've ever been to that part of the world, you might understand his predilection for nature in its beauty and even its savageness (having witnessed the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens). He plays jazz piano and trumpet, has composed 100's of jazz tunes, and been on several recordings both as a player and a composer/arranger. He now lives near the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.

Old Path to a New Place contains snapshots of the life of the mind, its inward wanderings to its outward musings. At times spiritual, at times comical or sorrowful, ultimately all three are blended together, as in life.
