Chris McCloskey lives in Broomfield Colorado, with her husband. She stays busy balancing her writing for children, teaching ESL at Front Range Community College, and raising service puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Terrance O'Connell is still teaching Tooten, a small service dog, new tricks. Together the two friends solve mysteries that Ter finds through "a break in the pattern" as well as mysteries that they are requested to solve, both in Boulder as well as other cities. Tooten has become a Canine Ambassador in the Helping Paws Program and Ter must take on more responsibility as a partner to an Ambassador.
Thirteen-year-old Terrance O’Connell thought life was over when he was sent to live at the foster home of Police Captain Leroy Gonzalez. He had grown up in a family of small-time criminals, and he thrived on the streets. However, when he met Cap’s service puppy in training, Tooten, he came to realize he had found a soul-mate, one who was curious as well as fearless, and would always be faithful.
