Biography

T.D. Blackman is a poet activist.
An honorary associate of the RENT party, he writes and speaks as the voice of the New American Promise. A group he started and helps to educate Black America and all America – on the issues and economic advantages, disadvantages, of government wealth, government health; and the toll government takes on people who don’t understand debt.

How do you approach writing?
For me, writing is a release.
The pent up emotion, the quiet frustration - I believe every day is a test.And the only way to pass is work through the problem and find the end before the end finds you.
Recording each day - even a small snap, helps me create a bigger world when it's time to produce the next great work
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Not the first story, it was probably cat in the hat or sally dick and jane or something. But the first story that really impacted my life, my writing was "A Hero ain't Nothing but a Sandwich."

Especially today it seems like there's a bunch of junkies that don't even realize what's controlling their life. But then too, I was a junky and it took some state interference to get me to decide to quit
