  • Mobster's Girl on Sep. 24, 2012

Where to start with this book! Amazing! It's a great love story between Megan and Tonio and the perils of their families and the secrets that are kept. The bond between the two are put to the test from family, loyalty and outside forces. The story makes you believe that you are there with the characters. I devoured this book in a day. The story will grip you from the start and you won't want to put it down. Amy's writing style was great, it was from both characters protagonist and i loved the Italian verb meanings on each chapter. The book could have been a little longer, though i am pleased that there is a second book 'Awakening the mobster' which i will be buying : )

OMG This book was completely amazing! A MUST READ!!!!!!! I loved it and read it with in 24hr as i couldn't put it down and i will have to read it again and again. The sexual tension between Lexi and Duncan are steamy and hot! Lexi, a column writer for a magazine, meets Duncan and is instanly attracted to him and has sexual desires for him. Still a virgin, her sexual desires are stirred when she looks in his eyes, she knows there is something about him that she craves, needs and feels addicted to him, she wants him and won't stop till she's got him. Duncan feels the same when he meets Lex. Just the though of her gives him an erection. He feels possessive over her and wants her, but he is also aware that he is a wolf and doesn't want to let the beast take over and claim her and hurt her. As one bite to a human could kill, as his kind have never been able to change a human without heartache and pain from the loss of loosing a loved one! At war with himself and the wolf, he trie,s to fight his desire for Lexi. Lexi later finds out that she is a Siren and is learning what that mean. She is also worried that it's because of this gift that she feels she put a spell on Duncan and that's why he wants her too and knows that she is also at risk of heartache and pain. The book is beautifully written, both from Lexi and Duncans perspective. A.C. Warneke has a new fan and look forward to more stories like this!
  • The First on Oct. 09, 2012

Wow i really liked this book. What a wonderful concept of new beings in an amazing story. "The First" are the First people on earth before humans evolved and imitated them. The First hold powers over nature. Violet is a half "first" and is a loner, she doesn't mix with people and hardly talks, but holds powers like no other. Cassie is known for her mega mouth, in the fact that she doesn't stop talking. She hangs in a group of frinds at School, her Dad is in Afghanistan and her mum is busy with her toddler of a sister! During a Volley Ball match, Cassie see's something from Violet that she can't explain. Confronting Violet, she asks how she did her "thing". Violet agrees to tell Cassie, if she stays the night! After a night with Violet, Cassie learns much about the first and is asked to accompany Violet to see her grandfather for the first time on his orchard. Putting friendships to the test, Cassie and Violet form a bond, trust and loyal friendship. At the Orchard, Cassie and Violet learn a lot and make new aquaintences, but also learn that her Grandfathers intentions for Violet are not sincere and put's humans and firsts alike in danger. Can they save people, find love and save the world? Read this amazing book to find out.
  • Stone Lover on Oct. 21, 2012

Wow what an amazing book that made me smile, laugh out loud, gave me butterlies, got me hot under the collar and made me cry. At first i was unsure of the beginning of the book as it jumped straight into an erotic scene that i felt was lacking in a connection and seemed far fetched in the circumstances. We had only just been introduced to Melanie and the foundations of the connection or the relationship seemed very weak at this point. Though in true A.C. style the book hooks you in and you won't be disappointed! The chemistry between Vaughn and Melanie is incredibly hot, spicy and strong. And A.C's amazing writing style pulls the readers into the story as if you are the character feeling the emotions being felt. The story see's Melanie, a young woman who has a great imagination when it comes to mythical creatures, fearies and the like, who works for her parants candy store making chocolate, move out of her parents home. She moves into an apartment (in a castle in the city, that others don't seem to see)and is drawn to the roof and the three Gargoyles that over look the city and gravitate to one in particular. The Gargoyle brothers are guardians of the city, by day they are stone beasts and by night they are strong sexy men. The eldest brother Armand doesn't like the fact that Melanie visits the roof and why/how the heck is a human living in the castle? He also see's that his brother Vaughn is enjoying the attention Melanie is giving him and that a strong bond is forming between them. Protective Armand sets out to get Melanies out of their lives and erase her memories and send her back to where she came from before things between Vaughn and her gets serious. And to save Vaughn from the crippling heartache a human can inflict on them, (which Armand has first hand experience in)and to save Melanie from the dangers that their world represents. So on New Years eve, Armand sets out to get Melanie out of their lives. But Melanie seems to be harder to compel than he first thought, after Rhys and Armand try their charm on her. The fates seem to have other ideas for Melanie and Vaughn and the story takes you on this steamy adventure of these two that are destine to be together. But in order to have their 'Forever' the cost will be a sacrifice, that maybe too much of a price to pay. Can Vaughn and Melanie have a Happily ever after? The story is very addictive and you will not want to put it down. Their is also a second book in the series 'Stone Romance' that sees the relationship of Rhys (Vaughn's brohter) and Jenna (Melianie's sister) from this book and seems just as promising!
  • Angel's Kiss on Nov. 03, 2012

This book is one of those that grips you from the first page and won't let you go! Written with a unique writting style and in a way that puts you right in the head of Lexi makes this book flow with ease. It will be addictive and if you do manage to put the book down, you will just be thinking about it until you pick it back up! Lexi is a lovable character, strong, loving with strong morals and a good sense of humour and passion. Her life is great. She loves her Husband, brother, friends and her job. Until she is attached after working undercover on a case, her life as she knows it is turned upside down. The attack kicks in a superhuman power that Lexi doesn't understand or didn't know she had. And unable to explain certain things that happened during the attack throws her mind into a spin. Searching the answers to understand whats going on is not as straight forward as Lexi thought. With secrets being kept, questions unanswered, those close to her with alterior motives for her power and immortals out to kill her for it throws her world into chaos. Not knowing who to trust or to believe she is part of a prophecy to be mated to sexy Ellasar an Egypcian God (who i loved), who meets her in her dreams, Lexi's salvation comes in a form of a womans best friend, Zeke the dog, a guardian to protect her. The book made me laugh in parts and also hot under the collar in a steamy scene, i would loved to have seen a bit more steamy scenes, but this is my personal opinion. The book ends with a promise of a sequel and i very much look forward to reading more from Lynne. (And secretly hope that a true (steamy) romance will bloom With Lexi and Ellasar.) A book for Adults!
  • Tales the Wind Told Me on Nov. 10, 2012

This was such a unique book to read. Broken down into individual tales and treasures that were both entertaining and heart felt. It feels like ages since i heard stories told in this way, that it warmed a certain stop of recognition. Beautifully written and enchanting to read, Rachel has seemed to have taken a modern twist of folklore and other such tales and draws in you to possibilities that get you thinking and looking at the box at other angles and not just outside. I loved Rachels insight and explanations to each story she told, and this, to me made the book that much more personal and you could feel the raw passion and the heart that went into this work. The writing style was captivating and drew in the reader to the belief of the story being told. Rachel has two other books; Run, Clarissa, Run And Gravity that look like a really good read also.
  • Inescapable: A Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Adventure (Eternelles: The Beginning, Book 1) on June 09, 2013

Inescapable, book one in the Eternelles series is a promising start to this series. It’s never a dull moment for mother and Daughter Adri and Sera. Sera Part Phoenix, part Vampyre and an eternelle, is feeling the pressure of dominance from her controlling mother ‘Adri’ and Rafe, the Vampyre who turned her. Left alone for a century, Rafe appears to stake his claim on Sera and her body just when the pressure of her mother increases when a mystery is to be solved. Adri daughter of Dionysos, the Greek god of wine and revelry, is at her wits end, after her friend is killed by a soul stealer and a statue is stolen, her daughter Sera is now in danger and tries to protect her at all costs. But Sera fights her control at every corner. When Des comes on the scene Adri’s feelings for the mysterious man complicate things further and adds to the stress and mystery and the passion. My only criticism on the book is in some parts, there is a tad tendency of over description between a question, a though and an answer, that sometimes you have to read back to refresh what was said.” And at first I was a little confused as to which character you were reading from their prospective as it changes throughout the book, though that said, I enjoyed the writing style. I liked all the characters and secretly hope that Rafe will be a knight in shining armour for Sera and the same with Des to Adri. A book with passion, obsession, mystery and murder, it’s a recipe for a brilliant series, which I hope book two ‘Indomitable’ won’t be a too long wait?
  • Séraphine (Eternelles: A Prequel, Book 0.5) on June 17, 2013

This is a lovely little nugget of gold, a prequel of Inescapable. From Seraphines POV, it’s the story of how she was turned by Rafe Harcourt, how she lost William and the wedge between Sera and Adri. It does leave you guessing as to Sera’s true feelings and if Sera’s hatred is fuelled by guilt for having feelings for Rafe when she should really be having them for William. And Sera is taking this out on Adri because she kept Sera alive and in recovery for two weeks whilst William went to America without her and died. There is another prequel; Adrasteia's, which i am also looking forward to reading too. I cannot wait until the next book Indomitable is out in October :)
  • Adrasteia (Eternelles: A Prequel, Book 0) on June 19, 2013

This is another lovely little gem of a prequel of Inescapable. From Adrasteia POV, it’s the story of how Adri came to have Sera. Not having physically carried Sera, you learn what Adri’s body went through at the time of Sera’s arrival and afterwards and the bond between mother and daughter was formed. There is another prequel; Seraphine, which is a great read and insight to what happened the night Sera was bitten by Vampyre Rafe Harcourt. I cannot wait until the next book Indomitable is out in October :
