This is a short, snappy and completely engrossing read. Dread builds up as the story progresses and it never goes in the direction you're expecting it to. The descriptions are visceral and real; one even made my skin crawl! If you're looking for something to read on a commute or while you're waiting for an appointment, look no further than this brilliant piece of short fiction.

This is a deliciously creepy story that will stick with you for days after you read it. The two kids are authentic and their reactions to the horrors they endure are also very real. And what a fantastic monster! I won't be forgetting that one in a hurry!

What an unexpected delight! I love this story. I was on the edge of my seat and on the edge of cracking up the whole way through. The author clearly has a wicked sense of humor as well as a strong grasp of genre tropes. Strong enough that they can be subverted in a wholly satisfying way. If you like your genre pieces with their tongues firmly in cheek, this story is for you.
