Publisher info

Verlag Meiga GbR is a German publishing house based in Bad Belzig not far from Berlin. Founded in 1988 by Beate Moeller, it came to life with a fascinating book called, "Rettet den Sex“ (Save the Sex), written by eight women who took a stand for a humane and responsible way of dealing with love, sexuality and partnership. The book caused quite a stir in Germany and climbed up the charts within months. But then it hit a wall of resistance. A slander campaign was started against the women and their projects, and eventually also against Verlag Meiga, supported from all political sides – left and right.

Beate continued to publish with the core message: There will not be peace on Earth as long as there is war in love. But the books did not sell any more. The work stagnated for a long time.

It was not until 2001 that Monika Berghoff discovered the treasure of knowledge and wisdom in the books published by Verlag Meiga. Together with Beate she decided to give it another chance. They began by translating and publishing the original books in English, and then eventually also in Spanish and Portuguese. In 2010 Beate Moeller left, and Monika Berghoff took over the publishing house with Saskia Breithardt. Today they are publishing new works as well from a select group of authors.

Monika and Saskia are convinced that the time for their powerful information is about to come. When we cannot rely on the big systems anymore, it is worthwhile to know about a possible way out: a postcapitalistic perspective for human society based on cooperation with nature, on community and self-sufficiency, on new technologies independent from fuel and - most of all - on a new relationship of the sexes.
