I had the privilege of joining the author, Je'anna Clements during her online programs as well as a few in-person workshops at her Riverstone Village to learn and become familiar with the concepts of "Horizontal communication" and "Self-Directed Learning". Not only has the exposure to these concepts gifted me new-found awareness and comprehension of the world around me but more importantly, a sense of internal peace and understanding of self. I realised that a lot of my "struggles" and frustrations, stemmed from the world in which I was raised which was very much governed by rules, indoctrination and an externally directed and dictated doctrine of how I should be and I should behave in the world around me with no sense of, or respect for who I actually was, who I wanted to be or what I needed. With this liberated sense of being and new found awareness, I found my life, relationships, parenting skills and friendships improving and the tools helped me understand and offer compassion to others where in the past I might have found only obstacles. The book so beautifully captures these concepts and more, presenting them in a logical, human and relatable manner. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who seeks to have more fruitful, accepting and flowing relationships with their partner, lover, work colleagues or children. And when you've read the book, why not jump on an online program with the author herself. She will help you bring to life the learning in a safe and collaborative environment sharing insights with a group of people from all over the world? The liberation I experienced has no words to describe it. Horizontal communication has changed my life.
