Trey Copeland

Biography

Born in 1969, I was hooked on science fiction after watching my first Star Trek episode (a rerun of "The Enemy Within"). Soon after, I folded in a love for fantasy upon discovering Dungeons & Dragons during my early teen years. Since, I have stoked my passion for speculative fiction with the greats: J.R.R. Tolkien, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, Tad Williams, Terry Brooks, David Eddings, L. Ron Hubbard, C.S. Lewis, Piers Anthony, Terry Goodkind and many more.

The works I admire most entertain while sharing a vision. Inspired by Joseph Campbell's "17 Stages of the Hero's Journey", I am drawn towards the gray areas found between science and mysticism, believing that the purpose to life is to learn and grow from individual and shared experiences. If I can communicate that deceptively simple pillar of faith while entertaining, if I can move a reader to "what if?" explorations of their own, then I have achieved my aim as an author.
