Phill Williams grew up in the South Wales valleys. After graduating from Cambridge and London, he worked as a teacher and educational psychologist, before holding Chairs of Education, first at the Open University and then at Bangor. Phill is an enthusiastic climber and hill-walker. Since taking early retirement he has enjoyed writing short stories, life-style books, and now crime novels. "The Currency of Death" is his second Rory Hawkins story.
