Lucille Travis holds both a BA and a Master's degree. She has taught literature at the university level and has been a respected author of children and youth fiction and non-fiction for many years. Until "A Few Brave Keepers," her work was published in print.
Her Ben and Zach series followed the adventures of two boys during the Civil War. Travis's Jean-Marie series was about the adventures of a young girl living in an orphanage in New York. It is semi-autobiographical. These and several other books have thrilled a large audience of youth and children for many years.
