By giving students the opportunity to be involved in producing commercial quality publications aimed at enhancing their future academic and employment possibilities,Yarra Bend Press addresses the problem of diminishing work experience opportunities within the publishing sector.
This anthology comprises NMIT’s second Time to Write short story contest. The 600 to 1000 word entries came from 12 to 17 year olds, adults, and NMIT students. Each was judged by a panel of Bachelor of Writing and Publishing lecturers and the winners announced at the Time to Write festival launch on Monday 27 May 2013.
To celebrate NMIT’s centenary, the Bachelor of Writing and Publishing launched its inaugural Time To Write short story competition offering writers a chance to be published by NMIT’s Yarra Bend Press. In keeping with the centenary, the theme was TIME and we looked for 600 to 1000 word submissions from writers. Winners and selected shortlisted works have been published in this anthology.
