Yvonne Spence
Yvonne Spence has been writing fiction as long as she can remember - or maybe even longer. "Drawings in Sand" is her first novel. It took a long time to write because life kept getting in the way - little things like moving halfway across the country several times, having a baby, and then a very premature baby. But this all made "Drawings in Sand" better in the long run.
Yvone is now working on another novel and plans to finish it sometime soon. If you can't wait that long, she blogs about writing at Writing a River, and writes non-fiction on Hubpages, where she goes by the name Melovy. (Links to both sites are below.)
Yvonne's short stories have been published in various anthologies and magazines. One of those stories came third in a contest run by "She" magazine (UK edition.) Another was long-listed for the Pulp.Net/Douglas Coupland award. A collection of her short stories set in the Shetland Isles is available as an ebook "Looking For America" on Amazon.
She has an MA (with Distinction) in Creative Writing and has taught creative writing to adults and children.
Yvonne lives in the UK with her husband, kids and cats.
