Z Gottlieb

Biography

I was born in Texas and lived all over the world, literally. I joined the Navy after college and retired after a number of years. I'm married with two children and currently have a desk job in Washington D.C. Nothing too exciting, except over the years I would occasionally make a few attempts at writing fiction. It is something that has always been in the back of my mind as something to do in my spare time , however, never a priority. Four years ago, I made a commitment to finish a story that had been floating in the recesses of my brain. I finally reached a point where I believe I can proudly share it with the public.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Texas and literally grew up throughout the US and Asia. My father was in the U.S. Air Force and we moved every year. I attended a new school every year. Even when we lived in Okinawa for three years, I attended a new school every year. I believe living in many places has made me open to the many cultures in the world. I believe, this has helped me describe the culture of the aliens in my first book.
Describe your desk
I use a standing desk. It is a three shelf Ikea desk that allows me to stand. One shelf holds the monitor at eye level, the second my keyboard, and the third, located at my knees have a number of items that I should probably just throw away. It's a little cluttered, but I know where everything is located. It is always maintained in the ready mode for me to stand and write my next chapter.
