An enjoyable read! I very much enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere. However, I came into the series expecting lesbian or at least non-hetero romance, and I find myself in the wrong place. One of three protagonists is lesbian but all throughout book one and at least the first of half of book two has her being extremely shy and self-conscious. Which, of course, is no problem in and of itself, but she is contrasted by her two heterosexual co-protagonists, one of which is extremely confident and outgoing and the other one who gets into a love-at-first-sight relationship with pretty much the first boy she meets. Definitely not for people expecting strong lesbian representation. It's a shame for me personally, since the story really has something going for it. I wish this book had not been categorized as gay and lesbian fiction or tagged with lesbian. Just having a lesbian character (one of three protagonists, and so far, no one else) is not enough to warrant it in my honest opinion.
