John Christopher & James Michael Wegner

My name is John Christopher Wegner (pen name: Zürthüryx Hemtolig Qosdarlu), and I'm a forger (author). My co-forger's name is James Michael Wegner (pen name: Thejyreq Vazgothicus Ldeikone). Together, we make up Forgature. Currently, we're working on a fictional series entitled Darkquisition. We don't have a publisher, so we currently publish our own stuff at this time. We don't have any degrees in writing, but we do have some experience though. We've taken various writing classes and have written numerous stories for fun throughout the years.

Due to our no-nonsense, no holds barred, take no prisoners, kill everybody, and decimate everything approach to writing, some people may find it offensive, stupid, lowbrow, laughable, shitty, too depressing, mean-spirited, evil, etc. However, that's how writing, or any other form of art for that matter, progresses. If everyone in a specific art medium just uses the same things over and over again, nothing new is ever forged. Also, art should get people to converse about it, whether it be positively or negatively. Lastly, content of this nature should be used to enhance your product, not be the primary thing in it or the only thing in it.

With our Darkquisition series, we're challenging the traditional perception of what an adventure should and shouldn't be. Instead of following the path that most other forgers follow, we're carving our own. Now because of that, we have no idea where we're headed or what stops we're going to make along the way. However, that's part of the fun for both us and our participants.

Whether you love us and/or our adventure; want us and/or our adventure and/or our website to die; or anything in between, please feel free to contact us about anything (comments, threats, reviews, incomprehensible ramblings from being high and/or drunk, etc.) via the following e-mail address:

P.S. Reviews are kindly encouraged and appreciated. Thank you and take care. \m/ Forge on! \m/.

Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Thejyreq and I have always loved stories. We love how things in them can evoke such strong emotions in people even though they aren't real. Heavy metal music also played a part in this, but Berserk by Kentaro Miura pushed us over the ledge. Not to mention we saw how people admired other people's works and wanted that for ourselves. On top of that, writing gives us a way to discuss important ideas in an entertaining manner. Lastly, it lets us have 100% control over something.
When did you first start writing?
Thejyreq and I started writing many years ago. The first things we ever wrote were for school. They consisted of poems, research papers, and short stories. The first major project we ever did was Married... with Kaoru. It's a parody of Rurouni Kenshin that's based loosely on Married... with Children. We started it in 2004 and the last new episode (we do these instead of chapters) was in 2007. However, we're not done with it yet. We're just taking a break to work on Darkquisition. Sometime we'll start working on it again.
