Maria Renate

Maria Renate grew up and writes in Arvada, Colorado among an assortment of family and chickens. She began writing the Forest of Drul when she was seventeen. She went to college in between writing it to read books she would otherwise never have got around to reading, and also to learn how to write, so that she wouldn’t commit so many grammatical atrocities. The experiment was partially successful. After doing time in peculiar Catholic institutions in Corpus Christi, Texas and on the southern edge of the Algonquin wilderness in Canada, she was subsequently infected with a degree in Literature in 2013 from Ave Maria University amidst the haunting wilds of Florida’s tomato fields.

Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Off-job (and not writing), I read, bicycle, watch Miyazaki films, go for walks, occasionally I paint or draw.
On-job, I traverse the highways and byways of Denver's front yards, backyards, fields, alleys, parking lots, and wherever in the general wilderness on a daily quest for gas meters.
