What made you decide to write a book on world history?
I was appalled to learn at a back-to-school night how history was taught in school to my children in a way where they could not retain it, in a series of unlinked events with an exhaustive list of details that did not leave them with an understanding of how the web of the story made sense as a whole. I figured I could do a better job.
What makes you qualified to teach history?
My expertise is in international relations and foreign policy. That encompasses history from the French revolution to contemporary times. I had to learn history prior to the French revolution.
